so this is awkward. today i went out with the awesome girl i talked about before, and she mentioned that she'd never been on a date before? and then i realized she'd never actually said the word "date" when she suggested we hang out, and so then i asked her on a date and she said yes, but also that she wasn't sure what distinguished a "date" from whatever we've been doing the past couple weeks. i don't really know either, but we'd joked about heteronormative ideas about relationships before, so i suggested that i could be the boy, since i'm taller than her and i was wearing pants today and she had on a dress. and so, like a boy, i could make the plans, and pick her up from her house, and whatever. also we will go out in the evening or at night, since that seems more date-ish. she seemed to find that pretty funny, so those are the plans. i just don't know what we'll do if she wears pants next time. does height beat clothing? who knows.
