empathy

i often wonder how some people manage to earn fame and fortune solely by being extremely unpleasant all the time. how do you sleep at night knowing that people will be happy when you die? i really don't understand at all. i'm usually good at finding something of worth in most people, but sometimes i'm just stumped.
